Paying Attention
I’ve been paying a lot of attention to paying a lot of attention. You, reading this, are an interesting subset of humans. And very representative of all of us. So this is in no way pejorative.
- You subscribe to my website.
- You get these newsletters and about 35% of you actually read them (I’m not sure what subset of the 35% reads most of them)
- Almost nobody responds to any questions I ask or actually registers for any programs….let’s say 1-2%
- Very few of you buy any of the books I sell (fewer than 1%) and I don’t know if any of you download my free literature or information …because free is hard to measure.
Here’s my point. I assume you really are representative of all of us. And what’s more, I assume you’re subject to the same generic response levels in what you are up to. So this is a subject that interests you. For example, I also belong to the GAA (Global Abundance Alliance) – Each month we ask someone really worthwhile to speak on a ‘Learning Leader Call.’ We’ve had some wonderful speakers. Last week we had Annie Loyd, an extraordinary candidate for Congress who will be changing the face of politics. And we put out invitations like crazy – Maybe 20 people attended.
The issue of course is enrollment: going from getting attention to paying attention… from getting heard to being heard … from arousing interest, deeply enough to impelling action.
The general “solution” is – get a large enough sample so that even such small percentages are high enough numbers. Sure I want a larger sample size – more subscribers will be lovely. But I think that, while it answers a piece of the puzzle – getting attention, it doesn’t address the ‘paying attention’ part.
Okay. Here’s my Requesting Part and the Offering Part.
- Look at my website and look at 21 Awesome Results (Click HERE) – This is a brand new approach to giving you the benefits of group coaching.
- This is a No Strings offer. I am giving away a free e-course. Making Problems Disappear (Yes, your problems) Sorry, there is a string attached. You have to email me to ask for it. And I can count how many of you do. I’m going to take this course, too

Attention
As I strolled with Sadie,
Alone, along my side street
I spied a tree well across the far streets
Its crown, a very nearly perfect circle
Framed by moonless, star lit night
As if itself suspended in the sky –
Unnoticed before,
Unseen in daylight
As if it newly came into being
Created by my eyes
As is the physical stanza above
As life comes into me,
Comes upon me, not by accident
But by attention
