Overcoming
You are headed for your goal. Everything looks good; it’s a clear highway. And suddenly there’s an obstacle; a traffic jam, a roadblock, a detour, a drunk driver inspection --- something. What do you do?
You know that a surprising number of people give up. Or they change their goal; they settle. Most don’t. First they try a few things. Then they give up – or change the goal – or settle. But this is where your persistence is tested and tested and then tested again.
Everyone writes about overcoming obstacles. But let’s say there are two very different kinds of obstacles; the ones that you encounter, caused by ‘the outside world.’ And the ones that you ‘own,’ inertia, procrastination, habits that don’t work, managing your use of time, planning, scheduling, and so on.
Overcoming the outside world – Use your support systems; use your resources. You will find something or someone to help you get through.
But overcoming yourself… That’s when coaching is extremely useful. We help you see what you don’t see – One of the things I work on with you is developing new, more fruitful habits. Overcoming is fun and that attitude helps you overcome.
My next free 6-session seminar – TRP – The Relationship Principles starts: February 25th, from 7:30 – 8:30 Eastern. It’s the first in a series of excellent programs.

Make a Left
I laid it all out
My Plan – it said do this and
Then do that
But on my way to that
Something happened
That I hadn’t planned on
So –
I started working on Plan B
There’s always a Plan B
So I never got to do that
Instead I did the other thing
But Lo and behold
Something else popped up
It just popped up
Out of nowhere
It wasn’t my fault and
I couldn’t help it
It just popped up
Well
You know what I did?
I made a left
