Goal Holidays
This is simply the weeks of holidays; we ricochet from one to the next. So how do we deal with our goals during this time? Hectic, but fine, if you’re in retail. For most of us it’s like the last few weeks of school, forcing ourselves to pretend to be present.
So many people we work with or for or who we serve are squeezing in their end of year vacations.
And it’s harder than ever to fulfill physical fitness and well-being goals. Every group we belong to is having its year end celebration; it’s even hard to limit how many we attend, much less how we indulge. My local YMCA has a “don’t gain weight” contest – and you get one of their t-shirts just for staying the same weight.
Family goals have great opportunities and great challenges. The gatherings occur and they bring with the patterns that we often seem trapped in instead of having the chances to finally break free of traps, to complete stuff that has hung around forever, to finally say, “I love you” - from tenuous lips to awkward ears.
Finance goals are challenging – deductibles are soon due at the same time as presents exact a toll.
And there is a great chance to overcome spiritual cynicism and to know that all of God’s manifestations are present and available. Because every spiritual practice says the equivalent of – All you need is Love,
Do unto others as you would have others do unto you…
Have a blessed holiday season. Re-think the possibilities before you. I predict that 2008 will be a banner year for all of us. Thank you for your listening.

Holidays
By Michael Lipp
I have changed
Even if only this year,
the time is always dear
and I cannot worry
if tomorrow I am who I was,
because I am who I am
and today is all that counts
on my way to tomorrow
It is again the season Of holidays
And my heart is full
Of gratitude and love
